All actions, from pairing with a service member to tracking communications and graduating from the program, will be handled on your Sponsor Dashboard. Notifications will be sent to your personal and Onward Ops sponsor emails.
Please note: If you're a certified sponsor and want a refresher on the dashboard, click HERE to attend one of our monthly sponsor orientations.
When a service member enrolls in the co-op program, they will be assigned a transition coordinator who will conduct a thorough intake to review the areas where they’ve requested assistance. Once this process is complete, they will be ready to be paired to a sponsor and will also have access to their military transition dashboard.
Despite the varying circumstances encountered by sponsors and transitioning service members, each journey follows similar phases, which are outlined below.
You can use your sponsor dashboard to manage actions and view important transitioning service member information.
Step 1: Request Sent To Sponsor
The request will be sent to both your personal email and your Onward Ops email address.
You will be able to review the enrollment and intake forms.
You can choose to click "accept" or "decline."
Step 2: Sponsor Accepts Request
After accepting the request, a matching email will be sent to both the transitioning service member and sponsor.
The email will be sent to both personal and Onward Ops email addresses.
Step 3: Activate Match
As a sponsor, you can reach out first for a quicker start, although service members are typically advised to initiate contact.
If your service member doesn’t respond after two attempts, notify your Community Integration Coordinator (CIC) or the Operations team.
After successful first contact, activate the match by clicking the 'Activate' button on the SM profile to confirm the connection.
Record interactions in the SM profile notes to track progress. These notes are visible to your Community Integration Coordinator, Transition Coordinator, and Operations team, and vice versa, ensuring a shared support approach for the service member.
When your service member or veteran is ready to graduate, or if contact with their sponsor has been lost, it's time to close their profile.
Just click the “Graduation Cap” icon in the top-right corner of the profile to complete the process.
TO GRADUATE
Review the graduation checklist located on our Sponsor Hub.
Click the “Graduate” icon when your service member or new veteran is ready to graduate.
TO CLOSE FOR OTHER REASONS
Click the “Other”
Include notes explaining the reason for closing the profile.
"Other" may include reasons such as no longer in contact, closed upon request, or a military service extension.
