Supporting a successful transition often means looking beyond the Onward Ops network. Community Integration Coordinators (CICs) work with local agencies to help connect Veterans to services in their area. Every community offers different resources. As a sponsor, knowing what’s available helps you guide your Service Member more effectively.

Each state has different programs and services available to Veterans and their families. These guides help you quickly find local support—whether it’s education benefits, employment services, VA medical centers, legal aid, or wellness programs. Use these guides to help your Service Member access resources that match their goals and needs—right where they live.
211 is a free, confidential service that connects individuals to local resources for food, shelter, health care, employment, and family support. Services also include assistance for older adults and people with disabilities, such as home care, transportation, and respite programs. Available nationwide through over 200 local agencies.
Why It's Good: Provides a simple way to locate essential community resources without needing to navigate multiple websites or agencies.
When to Use: Use 211 whenever help is needed finding local support for basic needs, health services, work, or programs for older adults or people with disabilities.

FindHelp.org is an online platform that connects individuals to national and local resources for Veterans, Service Members, and their families. It provides access to programs across multiple domains, including food, housing, healthcare, employment, education, and social services. Users can search by location, need, or population served.
Why It's Good: Offers a comprehensive, searchable database of resources, combining both national and local programs in one place. It’s especially useful for finding services tailored to Veterans and their families.
When to Use: Use FindHelp.org to locate services for Veterans and Service Members, whether for immediate needs like food or housing, or longer-term support such as education, employment, or family programs.

The AWP Network connects veterans, their families/caregivers, and veteran-serving organizations with local and national resources to address urgent needs such as transportation, short-term financial help and housing. Case coordinators provide personalized solutions tailored to each veteran.
Why It's Good: Offers a personalized, nationwide network to connect veterans and families with vetted resources for urgent needs, bridging gaps in local services.
When to Use: Use this resource when veterans or their families face urgent needs such as immediate assistance for food, or shelter, housing stability or emergency living expenses, or lack of transportation or other critical support not available locally.
